Road Trip Itinerary

Now that the car is done, we've started to focus on planning out this road trip so that we can be sure to hit all the best festivals, road side attractions, and see old friends that have scattered around the US. If anyone has any awesome suggestions of ice cream shops, amusement parks, national parks--basically anything amazing--then let us know!

  1. Hey! Coming through PVD. Good idea. If you do come up here, you might want to consider skipping I-95 south of New Haven. Here's an alternate route:

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=providence+ri&daddr=41.321138,-73.001404+to:new+york+city&hl=en&geocode=FfUufgIdnlO--yldc35D4ETkiTEntrNITXzfaQ%3B%3BFR1AbQIdK8KW-yk7CD_TpU_CiTFi_nfhBo8LyA&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=10&via=1&sll=41.370625,-72.810516&sspn=0.862592,1.452942&ie=UTF8&ll=41.13109,-73.488922&spn=0.86576,1.452942&t=h&z=10

That takes you on US-15 south, which is the "original" I-95 type road for the area. Your car will look better driving down it, and there will be less traffic.

  2. Awesome! Thanks for the heads-up. Yeah, we're coming through Providence specifically to see you. It's been years and I still haven't met your wife. Do you by any chance know any good venues that we might be able to play for more gas money?

  3. Well, I'm embarrassed to say that between the demands of graduate school, and that we tend to be homebodies, we don't take advantage of the local music scene. Whoops!

You should contact AS220...they really are the "biggest" player in the independent arts scene in PVD. They own artist housing, a little burrito eatery, performance space, art gallery, digital fabrication lab, letter press stuff, etc. Maybe they could get you connected into something good.
